Contributed English to Traditional Chinese localization for World of Warcraft: Legion, Blizzard Entertainment's sixth major expansion for one of the most iconic MMORPGs ever made. Handled localization across in-game text and game materials, working on an expansion that introduced the Broken Isles, the Demon Hunter hero class, Artifact weapons, and an entirely new chapter in Warcraft's decades-spanning lore.
Localizing for World of Warcraft comes with a particular weight of responsibility. The game has one of the most deeply established universes in gaming, with a lore history stretching back to the original Warcraft RTS games in the 1990s. Every new character name, faction title, ability description, and piece of item flavor text needs to sit consistently within a vast existing glossary that Traditional Chinese-speaking players have grown up with over years of play. Getting that consistency right while making new content feel fresh is a genuinely demanding balancing act.
World of Warcraft: Legion launched August 30, 2016 and is widely regarded as one of the strongest expansions in the game's history. It brought the game back to a peak of over 10 million active subscribers at launch and won multiple awards, including Best RPG at The Game Awards 2016.
